Other Rail Lines in Colorado Coverage of all the rail lines that ran in Colorado is beyond the planned scope of this site, I will attempt to cover ones I can locate information and photos of. The best known and the most interesting is the Rio Grande Southern. It twisted it's way out from Durango over to Rico and Telluride, then on to Ridgeway. Known for the Galloping Goose fleet of motorcars. San Luis Central still hauls produce from the center of San Luis Valley down to Sugar Junction where it connects to the Old D&RGWRR ( now San Luis & Rio Grande Railroad ) San Luis Valley Southern departed from Blanca on the eastern side of San Luis Valley and worked its way south to mainly pick up produce from the many farms lining the eastern valley rivers.
